Welcome Ziggy A and B! Menstrual discs made for mess-free period sex, whenever you want!
Having a period in everyday situations is quite challenging, but having a period and having sex seems like an impossible feat. That was before Ziggy came along. And in 2022, it’s even easier to combine periods and pleasure without worry, thanks to the newest generation of menstrual cups for mess-free sex – Ziggy Cup 2!
Meet our newest family member, the Ziggy 2!
The new Ziggy is even lighter, like a petal inside the body. It has a double rim and a ribbed tab to allow slip-free removal. This also add protection from leakage. Thanks to the special tilt and ring for easier removal, Ziggy 2 is easier to use. This unique menstrual disc has a specific shape and special purpose.
It also has a new outfit, available in two colours and two sizes. Ziggy A (50 ml / 1.69. oz.) is a light pink menstrual disc intended for those with a shorter cervix and lighter to medium-intensive period flow. Ziggy B is cerise, a bit bigger (76 ml / 2.5. oz.) and created for people with a higher cervix and heavier flow.
Is a menstrual disc for me?
Ziggy can be worn by anyone who menstruates and anyone who wants to feel fearless during the period. It’s an affordable product that doesn’t compromise on quality and lasts you years.
Reusable menstrual discs are easy to insert and feel like nothing is there. Ziggy A and B give you the ultimate confidence in any situation with their leak-proof ‘anatomy’. They also offer 8 hours of non-stop period protection. Because of the way Ziggy rests below the cervix, it catches your flow entirely so that you can even enjoy mess-free period sex. This menstrual disc is also one of the best options for someone’s first disc – for those who have never used a menstrual cup before. It is currently the only menstrual cup in this shape on the market.
Are you sure I can have it during sex?
Yes! That’s was one of the focuses when it was first being designed. Here are the features that make it sex-friendly:
- It has a flat-fit design for absolute comfort & room for penetration;
- Leak-proof double rim;
- Ribbed tab for slip-free removal;
- Up to 8 hours of non-stop protection;
- Unlike a tampon, it collects blood rather than absorbing it (less risk of toxic shock syndrome);
- Healthy for your body: no odours, dryness, or irritation (gentle for the vagina’s natural pH balance);
- Covers light to heavy flows.
How can I use it?
It’s very easy to use, which is why many women choose Ziggy as their first disc. The ideal option would be to sit on the toilet (or try different positions) and do the following:
Squeeze – Use your thumb and forefinger to squeeze the sides of the rim together to form a figure eight.
Insert – Insert the back rim of the cup first and use your index finger to push the cup. Angle the cup back and slightly down so that the rim moves behind your cervix.
Placement – Tuck the front rim up behind your pelvic bone to correctly position the cup around your cervix to collect your flow. If your disc is inserted properly, you won’t have problems with leaking.
Removal – It’s so easy that Ziggy can even be removed in a public toilet. Just keep in mind that you have to have clean and disinfected hands and soap, water and toilet paper around. Hygiene is always a must because we want to avoid bacterial infection or any other infections.
Use your finger and hook it behind the front rim of the inserted cup. Gently pull the cup out while keeping it horizontal to avoid spillage.
New year, new features
Except for the two sizes that our customers asked for, the new flexible Ziggy disposable menstrual disc has a ribbed tab for slip-free removal. The reinforced, flexible, petal-thin body is also made for easier insertion and better adaptation to the shape of the vaginal canal.
Our first-generation Ziggy line will soon be replaced by the Ziggy A and B on our webshop, so hurry if you want to keep this period product in your collection.
New Ziggy loves nature!
Yes, the new Ziggy doesn’t have a silicone case anymore. Its package is now completely made from a carton, which, unlike tampons, makes new Ziggy Cup a totally eco-friendly period product- from the product itself to its packaging. And it also comes with a washable fabric hygienic storage pouch like some of Lily cups. This flexible disc is a great long-run silicone investment.

Is it safe to use Ziggy with IUD?
Hi Kristina,
You can use our menstrual cups with an internal birth control device like IUD without any issues or interference. First you should discuss your specific situation with your physician to confirm that the IUD is properly positioned and that the strings are not too long. While using the cup you should also make sure that the strings are out of the way and stay above the cup when you wear it so as not to pull them when you extract the cup. We recommend size B to all those women who have given birth vaginally. You should measure your cervix height in order to choose the correct cup for you with the instructions you will find in this article: https://www.intimina.com/blog/check-cervix-height-menstrual-cup/
There shouldn’t be an impediment to using Ziggy Cup with an internal birth control device like IUD. Nevertheless, you should consult with your physician about your situation before using any cup with an IUD in order to make sure that it is positioned correctly and the strings are not too long. It’s important to verify that the strings are out of the way and stay above the cup when you wear it so you don’t pull on them when you remove the cup.

Am I at risk of my partner breaking through the silicon with his penis during intercourse? Does penis size matter? And will the cup not be disturbed during the friction?
Hi B,
the cup/disc is made of silicone that is compatible with condoms so yes, you can use Ziggy 2 and condoms together.
Have a great day,
Is mentioned that is main function is a menstrual cup, and that a benefit is that is usable during sex. Great. Question: is also a contraceptive form like a diaphragm (given it seals the cervix and looks similar)? Or would the sex during period also require a contraceptive method? If yes, is safe to use with condoms, or would the friction break them?
Thank you.
Hi Raffaella,
the cup/disc is made of silicone that is compatible with condoms so yes, you can use Ziggy 2 and condoms together.
Best regards,
What is the rim thickness measurement for sizes A and B?
Hi Becca,
thank you for this question. Ziggy cup 2 A is 8mm/0.32 in. and Ziggy cup 2 B is 9mm/0.35 in.
Hope this helps.
Have a great day
I´ve used the original ziggy for more than two years. But in the heavy days there´s always leackage and I have to empty it every 2 hours 🙁
Would the Ziggy 2 work better for me?

Hi, is it safe to sterilise my ziggy cup in the dishwasher, as I did with my moon cup?
Hello! We don’t recommend sterilising the cup in the dishwasher, but you can find information on all of the ways we recommend to clean your cup in this article: https://www.intimina.com/blog/cup-cleaning-care/.
Hi! What is the differens between ziggy cup and ziggy cup 2? It says that ziggy cup can be used for up to 12 hours but ziggy cup 2 only up to 8? Will this means that one can not use ziggy cup 2 while sleeping?
Hello! The Ziggy Cup 2 comes in two different sizes, while the Ziggy Cup came in only one. The Ziggy Cup 2 B corresponds to the original Ziggy Cup size, while size A is smaller. When it comes to how long the cup can be worn, as current research suggests menstrual cups should be emptied every 4-12 hours, depending on the type of cup and heaviness of menstrual flow, we have decided to advise our users to wear our cups up to 8 hours as a general guideline, to accommodate a wide range of users. Depending on your individual comfort level, you can wear our cups for longer or shorter periods of time before emptying and reinserting the cup. The most important thing is to listen to your body and make the decision based on that.
I’ve started using the original Ziggy disc, I am having mega leakage! It disc doesn’t collect? It’s like it’s not opening up and it always flat in my vaginal canal? What can I do to help this? I check placement and everything seems fine, just don’t get it to collect.
Hello, thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing with your Ziggy Cup. When the cup isn’t placed right, it won’t stay in place, and it will leak or slide down. The Ziggy Cup doesn’t form a seal while worn, so you only need to make sure the cup is correctly tucked behind the pubic bone. It is important to note that there is actually a front and back to the Ziggy Cup! If you turn the cup over and look at the bottom, the front rim of the cup looks to be slightly thicker and gives you a bit more space to get a grip on the cup during insertion. Using your fingers, squeeze the rim in half for insertion, making an ‘8’ shape. Sitting comfortably on the toilet, relax your vaginal muscles and insert the cup into your vagina by firmly pushing the back rim inside, so the rim moves behind your cervix. Push the cup as far as you comfortably can to make sure the rim tucks behind the bone. When inserting the Ziggy cup, it is essential to be comfortable and relaxed. We recommend using water-based lubricants in case insertion is a bit difficult. Once you insert your Ziggy Cup, try standing up. If it slides down, it’s not inserted correctly. If it stays in place, it should not move up or down later in your day. Since this disc is different in design from classic cups, it does take a bit of getting used to at first, but it will be completely worth it once you get the hang of it. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are at your disposal.
Have a nice day!
Hello!
I couldn’t find any info in your Q/A for my question.
Will the ziggy 2 work for me I have a tilted uterus/tilted cervix???
Hello! Having a tilted uterus or cervix won’t necessarily mean there’s a reason against using a cup. However, it would help to consult your gynecologist or your health provider to see if a specific type of cup would work better for you depending on the exact position of your cervix.
Bonjour,
Comment savoir si notre col est haut ou non ?
Par avance merci.
How can I know if my cervix is high or low? I don’t know which model to buy.
Hello Aline! You can find a detailed guide on how to measure your cervix height here: https://www.intimina.com/blog/check-cervix-height-menstrual-cup/.
Hello 😀 can you buy your product in Australia?
Hello Richelle! We deliver to Australia. 🙂
Which one would you recommend for someone who has never tried either a cup or a disc but has given birth more then once?
Hello Britt! The exact model you would choose may depend on a couple of factors, including your cervix height, simply because of the length of the cups we offer. In any case, for anyone who has given vaginal birth, we would recommend a cup in size B. For instance, a Lily Cup Compact B could be a good choice because it can be worn by someone with a high or medium cervix. However, you could also contact our Customer Care email address to share more info so that we can help you choose the cup that would work best for you!
Is it auto-draining?
Hi Lauren! The cup needs to be emptied every 4-8 hours, depending on how heavy the flow is. The cup needs to be removed by the user, emptied, and we recommend rinsing it with clean water before inserting again. I hope this helps!
Is the Ziggy cup safe to use while sleeping?
Does this cup work as a diaphragm? Or if I’m wearing this cup would I have to use additional protection during sex?
Hello! Our cups are not a form of protection and users still have to continue using some form of contraceptives. These are menstrual disks that are simply intended to catch the menstrual flow, and can be used during sex to avoid any mess!
Hey,
How can we know if we need size A or size B?
Thanks in advance
Hello, Emma! Ziggy A is a menstrual disc intended for those with a shorter cervix and lighter to medium-intensive period flow. Ziggy B is a bit bigger and created for people with a higher cervix and heavier flow. If you haven’t checked your cervix size yet, you can do so by following the tips in this article: https://www.intimina.com/blog/check-cervix-height-menstrual-cup/
Bonjour
